This year I want to challenge you to make a New Year's Spiritual Resolution. Sometimes we can get into a spiritual rut & stop growing in our love & obedience to Jesus. The New Year gives us an opportunity to put new energy into our spiritual life with a new commitment to spiritual growth. It begins with a decision that you want this year to be better than the last, that you want more of Jesus this year than you had last year. This year could be an incredible year for you to grow spiritual & have inexpressible joy in Christ. What spiritual resolutions will you make this year? May this year we all abound in grace, pursue Jesus with passion, & bring more glory to God than ever before!
In Christ, Bro. Jason

4 Keys to Spiritual Growth
1. Humility-- You must be humble before God. Pride always prevents spiritual growth. You must first humble yourself before God if you are serious about growing. God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6-10).
2. Teachable Spirit-- If you are not ready & willing to learn, then you cannot grow. Spiritual Growth is the fruit of the hearing from God through His Spirit revealing truth to us & enabling us to live it out.
3. Desire to Change-- You must be willing to change what you are doing. If you are content with how much Jesus you have in your life, then you won't grow further. It is only when we are dissatisfied with where we are at spiritually & want to change that growth can take place. God wants to change us & will, if we are ready & willing.
4. Disciplined Life-- You have to be willing to put some work in. Spiritual laziness will hinder growth. We must be willing to train ourselves by using the spiritual disciplines (such as prayer, reading the Bible, worship, serving, etc.), so that we can discipline ourselves just like an athlete trains himself for competition (1 Cor 9:24-27).
